History

1953 Henri Vernier buys the “Erma” company from Maurice Maire in Chaux-de-Fonds. Manufacture of injection-moulded watch crystals.
1954 Registration of the company “Henri Vernier, Fabrication de verres de montres Erma”.
1958 Registration of the company “Vernier, Hernikat & Cie”. Manufacture of moulded Hesalite and injection-moulded watch crystals.
1962 Registration of the company “Erma Boécourt S.A.”, the name the firm still bears today. Manufacture of injection-moulded, moulded Hesalite and mineral watch crystals.
1978 Manufacture of sapphire watch crystals begins.
1980 Construction of current building.
2001 Company bought out by Christian and Patrick Vernier, and Pascal Meyer.
2003 Building extended (area more than doubled).
2005 Company bought out by Christian and Patrick Vernier.
2012 Stake purchased in Econorm Gams SA, our subcontractor for various coatings (anti-reflective, metallising, etc).
2015 Building renovated (old building insulated, appearance of new and old buildings harmonised).
